Realizing Success - Recipe for a Business that Works

What does it take to be successful in business? There are many components that make the perfect secret recipe, and after much experimentation, I believe I have found it. Ask yourself, What guide do I follow? Is it serving me, or does it need some tweaking?

Being a successful business owner doesn’t follow a cookie-cutter recipe; each person and each business is different in its needs. However, there are a few constants I have noticed no matter the business, the owner, or the market. These foundational pieces are the backbone of every successful business, the secret to a successful business model.

Many people commented on how “lucky” I was to have had such a successful business. While I was indeed lucky with the timing of my business, that was only the tip of the iceberg. For every dash of luck, there is a plethora of hard work.

Let me share the secret recipe for realizing business success, as I have discovered:

  1. Reach for the stars. Write down your big, gorgeous goal. What is it, specifically? What do you need to accomplish it? What does it feel like? What does it look like?

  2. Little steps. Sometimes a goal doesn’t seem so unattainable until we sit down and plan it out. When you get here, don’t panic! Every journey begins with one foot after another, don’t let the process daunt you.

  3. Expect hiccups. The universe loves to throw wrenches in our plans. Learn to take these in stride, and be as flexible as possible. This can be stressful when we want to be in control of everything, but there are multiple routes to long-lasting success.

  4. Let it simmer. Remember how I mentioned timing? Sometimes, we have these wonderful visions of success or bursts of inspiration, but we aren’t quite in a place to act on them. Hold them close. Dream of them again and again, and plan out every detail you can. And when the right moment comes, get after it.

No recipe works for everyone, but keeping these ingredients in mind will surely lead to success. Don’t forget to be patient and trust the process. Take it a day at a time and don’t forget to breathe!
